| Robert Coritz built his fortune in the 1920's with massive orange groves in the Chatsworth area. He married Leslie Ravenrun in 1924 after his crops flourished in the 1923 rainy season and he built his new mansion in a beautiful area on the edge of his fields, between the reservoir and the now closed Darkwater Asylum. Little did he know that would be a fatal mistake, as this was the same area that the Darkwood murders, as the papers were calling them, were found. |

Their daughter Emily was born in 1926, and for many years they led a pleasant carefree life in their beautiful home, despite the specter of the sinking asylum in their backyard. Franklin The Great, a local magician was hired for their daughters 10th birthday party, it would be the last time Emily would see her parents alive and the last time anyone would be seen entering or leaving the Coritz manor in over 70 years. Speculation abounds, but most people think that the magician awoke an unspeakable evil that night, caused by all the souls trapped and murdered on the land and in the nearby asylum. |

Dr Rilton Carbon, Chief Psychiatrist pushed his staff to keep a perfect record, but history tells a different story with many unexplained deaths of patients and rumors of extreme unorthodox practices to garner satisfactory results. |

| Over the years rumors abounded that the deaths in the area around the asylum were the result of escaped patients, but every time it was investigated, there were no records or proof of patients missing, yet the deaths continued. The asylum was closed after the reservoir flooded it in 1923, killing all inside. Stories emerged several years later, that people had found a way into the sinking asylum which may have been the same route that patients escaped to commit their murders, but mysteriously the sources of these rumors were never able to be proven. Darkwater Asylum still exists today, a decomposing husk with a sinister haunting secret that may never be solved..
